á   Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday and is to be turned in the next school day.  For example, homework assigned on Monday is due on Tuesday.

á   Math Superstars are due each Friday.  This is a math enrichment program that is open to all students.  A sheet of math problems will be given to each student on Fridays, and is due the following Friday.  StudentsÕ progress is recorded, and awards are given for points earned during the school year.  High scoring students will earn a special award at the end of the year.

á   Students are responsible for copying their assignments into their planners each day.

á   Expect Math and Language Arts (Writing/Reading) assignments each night.

á   I find it beneficial to have students begin their homework assignments in class.  This increases their understanding of the assignment and gets the ball rolling toward completion.

á   We check our homework each morning.

á   Reading books for enjoyment is always encouraged and logging this data is part of our homework procedure.  Students are to record books read on the monthly record sheet in their folder.

á   During the year, students will work on projects at school and at home.  Dates for the project assignments will be written in their planners.

á   Please sign your childÕs planner each night.  I will sign it each morning.  Notes can be written in the planner to keep the lines of communication open all year.

á   A note from a parent or guardian will excuse a late homework assignment, but the work is to be completed within one week.
